Em and Adam's family led, intimate wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall

EM AND ADAM HOSTED AN INTIMATE LEGAL WEDDING AT OLD MARYLEBONE TOWN HALL, LONDON ~ JUST WEEKS BEFORE THEIR BIGGER CELEBRATION AT OLD SESSIONS ART CLUB.

Keen to get a little more London into these photos, I suggested meeting at a nearby tube station and getting a black cab to the ceremony. Black cab photos are quintessentially London and so many of my couples love to do them ~ Marble Arch was the perfect choice as it was convenient for them to travel to from their home and it is near green spaces and epic architecture that ties in with that of Old Marylebone Town Hall.

The couple wanted to arrive earlier to get some photographs together so that they could head off to their reception promptly, together with their family. Marylebone can be really busy, and sometimes when you arrive it's common to see wedding parties on the stairs or in either of the two sides getting portraits.

We then had the ceremony which was magic. Short and sweet as Em and Adam had a longer celebrant led celebration for their Old Sessions wedding (coming to the blog soon). The rooms inside Marylebone Town Hall can be tricky to shoot because of the lighting, so I'll always ask couples ahead of time if they'd prefer me to shoot without flash to respect the moments or shoot with flash to prioritise the light and image quality. To me, either is fine but it's just understanding the priorities.

After ceremonies here you only have 5-10 minutes to get additional photos both inside the building and on the steps for confetti, so it's really important to maximise this time. My approach when documenting weddings here is to always be watching, and to move as much as possible to get variety.

I'll usually hide you in the section to the left to have a moment together, before heading out to get your guests ready for confetti. After the confetti is the easiest moment to get a big group photo, we'll then choose the best spot available to get extra shots with your family and friends. I'll always be looking out for candid moments, continuing to look around while the groups get together. Time permitting, I'll offer to get nice photos of your closest ones with their partners (or in this case: new baby)! It takes two seconds but your guests always appreciate it so much. It also gives you a break from photos to just soak it in and watch your favourites existing.

Most couples who get married at Old Marylebone Town Hall choose to have their reception somewhere local, often walking distance. This is great for photographs because I can get natural candids of you all as you head over there. Once at the reception venue, things are really relaxed and coverage is pretty much exclusively candid. I say pretty much as Em had requested a photograph together with Adam having a pint.
