When it comes to destination weddings...

one place holds a special place in my heart: Italy. Even before my journey as a professional wedding photographer began, my love affair with this country had already begun. As a former teacher of languages, I found myself completely immersed in Italian language and culture, deepening my connection to the rich heritage and traditions that make Italy so uniquely gorgeous.

Italy's magic is undeniable. Its picturesque landscapes, storied architecture, and vibrant culture are soul food  and I will forever be a little bit obsessed with this country. From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the sun-soaked shores of the Amalfi Coast, each region has its own distinct charm and beauty, providing a never-ending list of stunning locations for couples to exchange their vows.

And don’t even get me started on the food.

If you've been following my work, you'll know that I’m all about detail-led weddings with couples who truly appreciate the significance of the little things. I had the incredible opportunity to shoot at the breathtaking Castello Monaci in Puglia, and it was the perfect opportunity to collaborate with an incredible team, get mega creative and fall in love with Italian destination weddings even more.

From the moment I set foot on the grounds of Castello Monaci, I was wowed by its beauty and timeless charm. Nestled amidst rolling vineyards and olive groves, this picturesque Italian wedding venue provided the perfect canvas for my artistic vision to totally run away with me. The ultimate backdrop for all those in between moments of magic that I look for on a wedding day.

Stepping inside Castello Monaci, you’re immediately transported to a world of refined  elegance. The interior of the venue - which provided  a seamless blend of history and contemporary sophistication - was the perfect setting for the very talented supplier team to come together and nail the modern luxe aesthetic.

The floral installation that adorned the space was a true work of art. The talented Michele meticulously crafted a masterpiece that embraced the natural beauty of the surroundings and brought the inside in. Lush sculptural blooms in soft pastel hues complimented the limewashed terrace walls,, creating a natural backdrop and focal point for guests to enjoy and add to the romantic atmosphere...

The tablescape was equally as mesmerising and I could not get enough. The attention to detail was insane. Vintage-inspired china and delicate crystal glassware adorned the table, adding an air of refinement and elegance. Soft linen tablecloths cascaded gracefully, while candlelight added to  the warm and intimate ambiance. The hugely talented  Rebecca Marie Weddings was behind the styling and kept things chic yet clean, modern and minimalistic including the glorious custom-made stationery by Gray Starling Designs.  Settings on white with a simple floral design and elegant font, an ode to the florals spilling down the centre of the very on trend banqueting  tables was simply stunning.

As a wedding photographer, capturing the beauty of the venue, the fabric artistry, and the tablescape - all the good stuff - was an absolute joy. I loved playing with light and shadow to change the mood of the images while capturing the colours and textures;  there were endless opportunities for creativity and the attention to detail that made this shoot at Castello Monaci an unforgettable experience.

Just like when working with real couples on their special day, I focused on capturing every intricate detail. Because your wedding venue is more than just a backdrop; it becomes a part of your legacy. .
